Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary with 2+ years of hands-on litigation support experience to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and takes pride in keeping attorneys organized, prepared, and ahead of critical court deadlines. The successful candidate will be proactive, resourceful, and capable of managing a busy litigation desk with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys
Prepare, format, proofread, and file pleadings and legal documents
Handle state and federal court filings (including e-filing)
Maintain and manage attorney calendars, including court deadlines and appearances
Coordinate depositions, hearings, and meetings
Manage case files and document organization (electronic and physical)
Draft correspondence and assist with discovery preparation
Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary in litigation
Experience with state and federal court filings preferred
Strong calendaring skills with knowledge of court rules and deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with legal document management systems and e-filing platforms
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
